Need Crafting Mojo? Try Simply Sent!

As a person who creates with paper, I often have times where I’ve lost my crafting mojo.  I can’t think of anything to create.

Nothing inspires me.

Not even Pinterest!  {{GASP}}

So instead of trying to reinvent the wheel or even modify the wheel, I’ll just use the “wheels” that are already created for me.  I’m talking about the Simply Set Kits (US/CA), here.  You get everything you’d need to create eight cards and you don’t even have to think. Well, not very much, at least.

I saw the Simply Sent Kit: On Its Way and the colors said, “Yes, you love me.” I love the bright colors and the banners and arrows. This whole thing spoke to me. But then I wanted to “Jane” it up.

Glimmer Paper.

E-cutter. Scary?  I was scared. I finally got an e-cutter. It looks so pretty on my desk but until now, it has just been staring at me. I finally broke down and figured out how to use it. Honestly, it was super-easy. Now I can’t STOP using it.

I created “Friend” in Lobster 1.4 font (72 pt.) and had to play around with the spacing. To cut everything how I wanted, I had to add some spaces (remember to change the size of the space to 8 pt. font size—and then I “welded” the word together so it would cut out as one piece.

Yes, I deleted the dot over the “i”.  I didn’t want it.

Once I had that all settled and the pieces cut out, I just had to assemble the kit and add my glimmer word.

I really liked the layout the kit suggested but I’m a rebel and turned the card sideways.

I know.

I like demonstrating different ways to show the kits because it helps your brain to start thinking creatively. If nothing else, now you’ve got more than one option for a kit to show your customers.

Go create!!

Don’t forget to make your envelope look awesome with your extra pieces.
