Glimmery Things

I love glitter! I think it adds so much pop to your project . . . and it’s an easy wow. Use a little glue, some insta-sparkle, and in seconds your project goes from “Meh,” to “Oh yeah!” I’m also always on the hunt for inexpensive but awesome gifts. I saw this cute idea on Pinterest for glittered thumbtacks. What could be easier? A little Crystal Effects and some Glass Stampin’ Glitter . . . bada-bing! Speedy-awesome gift. They come together so quickly!

I love the glass glitter for so many reasons. The first is that when I work with it, I don’t go home looking like Tinkerbell after a glitter accident. The second is that it’s so eye-catching and substantial. It’s awesome! I was really getting into it, so I used some Dazzling Diamonds, too. It’s such a versatile glitter.

I also tried it with a little Dazzling Details. I liked how these turned out, too.

I got to looking at some of our other embellishments and decided I could totally take this to the next level. Still using Crystal Effects, I glued on Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons and some of our new, super-cute In Color Boutique Details embellishments. (Oh my gosh . . . I love these so much!) I also clipped the backs off of some Antique Brads and used those.

They all turned out so cute! It’s such an easy way to create something special. And who doesn’t love getting something homemade? It’s unique and useful—everything a gift should be!

Of course, if you’re giving these away they need some cute packaging. Check these out.

I cut out the frames using our new Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and used the Paper-Piercing Tool to create the holes for the thumbtacks to poke through.

On this one I made a little paper-pierced heart.

Wrap the whole thing up in a Cellophane Bag with a little ribbon and give these puppies away. If you haven’t played with glitter in a while, it’s time to break it out again! Get in there and make Tinkerbell happy!
